![]() **paladin : it gets a free mount at level 5. instead of a paladin that needs CHA for their spell slots. So fighter - usefull to add as multiclass.Īnd unlike paladin you cal pick STR or DEX to boost your damage. and you never will need more levels in fighter.) (if you time it correct leveling your fighter skill to level 5 as your character gets level 21. **some of those you will only recieve at level 5, and with a character level 21 **some of those you will recieve below level 4. You could also try adding some Red Dragon disciple to the mix, because of the Paladin's alignment restrictions you'll have to use Sorc to qualify.įighter has acces to some skills that other classes do not. Having typed that the official campaigns are easy enough that high strength and high charisma are viable, although you won't get Devastating critical in HotU unless you commit heavily to strength. If you try to balance both Charisma and Strength you end up with something that's kind of mediocre (and the duration of Divine Shield and Divine Might are tied to your charisma modifier so if it isn't high you end up refreshing it a lot). If you go for a high strength (16 STR, 8 DEX, 14 CON, 14 INT, 14 WIS, 10 CHA and increase STR every 4 levels) you'll have a high AB and possibly higher damage/lethality (if you use a two-handed weapon or get devastating critical) but your AC and saves will suffer. It's just that if you go for a high charisma (14 STR, 8 DEX, 14 CON, 10 INT, 14 WIS, 16 CHA and increase CHA every 4 levels), you'll get a good AC from Divine Shield and saves from Divine Grace, but your AB will suffer and you won't be able to hit anything without buff spells. That's not a bad thing, the Paladin spell list is very good for buffing up their AB and damage. With point buy and the feats available in NWN, I find it best to treat the Paladin like a Fighter with some Cleric spells.
